EN1090 is a standard for steel structures under the building materials regulations CPR in CE certification. The standard was implemented on 01/09/2012, and the old standard was completely abolished on 01/07/2014, and EN1090 began to be enforced. The EU stipulates that after 01/07/2014, all steel structures entering the EU market must obtain the EN1090 certificate before they can be sold in the EU market.

The standard has three parts:

EN 1090-1: 2009+A1: 2011 (Steel and aluminium structures - Part 1: Basic requirements for conformity assessment of structural components) (Directive standard)

EN 1090-2: 2008 (Steel and aluminium structures - Part 2: Technical requirements for steel structures) (non-directive standard)

EN 1090-3: 2008 (Steel and aluminium structures - Part 3: Technical requirements for aluminium structures) (non-directive standard)

EN1090 Certification Essentials

EN1090 certification is an audit of the steel structure enterprise system. It mainly evaluates the quality control ability of the enterprise. These mainly include: welding personnel qualifications, material certificates, quality control documents, welding system establishment, and product testing.

The main points that need to be certified are as follows:

a. Establish factory production control system FPC; refer to EN 1090-1, 6.3, P19;

b. Select execution level EX1~4; refer to EN 1090-2, A.3, P 107;

c. Material certificate verification; refer to EN 1090-2, 5, P25,

d. Establish welding system; refer to EN 1090-1, Table B.1, P26;

e. Determination of product performance parameters; refer to EN 1090-1, ZA.1, P30;

f. Sign the Declaration of Conformity, using the CE label.

FPC Audit Points

1. General requirements to establish a factory control system on the basis of ISO9001 document requirements to ensure that the products put on the market are consistent with the performance parameters declared by the manufacturer. The FPC system should include program documents, inspection procedures, product testing, sampling and verification records. The inspection results are used It is used to control product quality, production process documents, and production flow charts.

2. Personnel Welder certificate in line with EU standards, welding operator certificate

3. Equipment Weighing equipment, inspection equipment, measurement and calibration of testing equipment. Program document control.

4. Structural design process Evaluate design calculations and evaluate compliance with European standards

5. Constituent material (raw material) material certificate or material document, such as 3.1 certificate, 2.2 document (inside the factory) or 3.2 certificate issued by a third party.

6. Material Specifications Provide basic performance requirements, basic performance verification, and records.

7. Final product inspection

8. Disposal process of non-conforming products

9. The factory provides the initial type testing report, which can be performed by the factory itself or operated by a third-party laboratory.

10. The welding system qualification certificate includes welding process (WPQR/WPAR), base metal, execution grade, standard, and welder's manual, etc.
